Statement
My work documents the overlapping implications of place and home, my own body existing within them over time, and the way history of material culture is tied to history of place. I combine fiber arts processes, movement, and mapping to perform transformative processes involving the clothing my body exists within, the buildings where I live and work, and the prairie region. My artistic process is guided by repeating ritual maintenance to slow the inevitable decay of what I make and care for. Ultimately, though, loss is inevitable, and I create systems that encourage letting things go.
